Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 : Welcome to India Arrange your flight to arrive in Delhi in the morning where you will be greeted with a warm "Namaste". Transfer to the Hotel Park Plaza. After a short break, we embark on our first journey to discover India with stops at Akshardham Temple, a gorgeous Hindu temple and spiritual-cultural complex and Chandni Chowk (a hundreds years old market). Connecting with the energies of the Root Chakra
Day 2 : Drive from Delhi to Rishikesh After breakfast in Delhi, we will hit the highway north to Rishikesh, with a stop at the Patanjali International Yoga Centre for an introductory course on ayurveda and a tour of the facilities. Dinner and overnight at Hotel EllBee Ganga View. Connecting with the energies of the Sacral Chakra.
Day 3: Haridwar Haridwar is an ancient city and one of the most sacred cities in India. The diverse nature of the Hindu religion has attracted foreign visitors from all around the world. Here you can closely experience India's complex culture and various Hindu rituals. Take a dip in the holy River Ganges. Early morning start to Mansa Devi Temple high up in the hills (accessed by cable car), followed by visits to the Pawam Dham Glass Temple and Daksh Temple. We will also visit Har Ki Pouri (Ganga Ghat) for famous Ganga Aarti then continue on to Rishikesh where we will have dinner and stay at the Hotel EllBee Ganga View. Connecting with the energies of the Solar Plexus Chakra.
Day 4: Rishikesh Early morning yoga and Hindu meditation with private instructor. Rishikesh, also is one of the holy cities in India. Located in the foothills of the Himalayas, it is the gateway to these majestic mountains. The spectacular River Ganga is like part of the city. Rishikesh is a place visited by several yogis and sages who loved and practiced hard penance here. It is world famous as the "Yoga Capital of the World". Today we visit several of the ashrams that have made Rishikesh the centre of meditation and yoga. We will visit the Swarg Ashram, the Shivananda Ashram, and the infamous Beatles Ashram. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel EllBee Ganga View. Connecting with the energies of the Heart Chakra.
Day 5: Rishikesh Early morning yoga and Hindu meditation with private instructor. After breakfast, we head to Shivpuri town to visit the Vashistha Cave for meditation. Vashistha was Guru of Lord Ram who meditated here. A short jaunt down the beach will take you to smaller cave where Jesus was said to have lived in meditation and prayer for many months. Dinner and overnight at Hotel EllBee Ganga View. Connecting with the energies of the Throat Chakra.
Day 6: Rishikesh Early morning yoga and Hindu meditation with private instructor. This is a free day to explore Rishikesh, catch up on journalling, perhaps some shopping at the phenomenal fabric and jewelry shops. Dinner and overnight at Hotel EllBee Ganga View. Connecting with the energies of the Brow Chakra.
Day 7: Drive from Rishikesh to Nalagarh After an early breakfast, transfer to Nalagarh situated in the foothills of the Himalayas. Nalagarh offers a spectacular view of the Shivalik range of the Himalayas with the Sirsa River. Nalagarh Fort is an amazing piece of Mughal architecture with 20 acres of forest land. Dinner and overnight at Nalagarh Heritage Resort. Connecting with the energies of the Crown Chakra.
Day 8: Drive from Nalagarh to Dharamshala (MacLeod Ganj) Spend the morning enjoying the luxury of Nalagarh Fort. For those want to join in, we will offer early morning meditation (note: when we did this last time, we were joined by a huge monkey!) After lunch, transfer to Dharamshala, or more accurately MacLeod Ganj, famous for its scenic beauty, serenity and Tibetan culture. In the evening, enjoy a Tibetan dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay at the Pride Surya Resort.
Day 9: Dharamshala (MacLeod Ganj) Early morning Buddhist meditation with private instructor. After breakfast, we will explore this beautiful, serene, remote locale that can arguably be called the Heart Centre of the World. Visit the Tibetan Museum and the Dalai Lama Monastery. The Dalai Lama's home is also situated here. Dinner and overnight at Pride Surya Resort. Connecting with the energies of the Higher Root Chakra.
Day 10: Dharamshala (MacLeod Ganj) Early morning Buddhist meditation with private instructor. After breakfast, we will make the trek to the Bagsu Temple, waterfall and cafe. For those who want, we can also visit a beautiful church nestled in the woods of the Himalayas, St. John of the Wilderness. Dinner and overnight at the Pride Surya Resort. Connecting with the energies of the Higher Sacral Chakra.
Day 11: Dharamshala (MacLeod Ganj) Early morning Buddhist meditation with private instructor. After breakfast, we will visit the Kalachakra Temple, Tibet World, and the fabulous shopping available at the Tibetan Market. Dinner and overnight at Pride Surya Resort. Connecting with the energies of the Higher Solar Plexus Chakra.
Day 12 - 16: Dharamshala (MacLeod Ganj) 5 days of training in Tibetan singing bowl healing. The final day involves picking your particular set of healing bowls Connecting with the energies of the Higher Heart Chakra.
Day 17: Dharamshala (MacLeod Ganj) Early morning Buddhist meditation with private instructor. Free day. There are so many additional things to explore in MacLeod Ganj, as well as great films and lectures presented at the Tibetan Museum. Dinner and overnight at Pride Surya Resort. Connecting with the energies of the Higher Throat Chakra.
Day 18: Dharamshala (MacLeod Ganj) to Delhi outskirts After breakfast, we will embark on a very long drive to take us as close to Agra as possible in one day. There will be stops along the way, and it is gorgeous to observe the changing landscape from one State to the next. Dinner and overnight at Hotel
Day 19: Delhi to Agra After breakfast, we will drive to Agra. After checking in to the hotel, we will visit the Agra Fort. Built in 1573, it was a main residence of the Mughal emperors until 1638. Overshadowed by the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort itself is a beautiful and impressive example of the scope and beauty of Mughal architecture and the keeper of stories of political and familial intrigue. It is well worth the visit! Dinner and overnight at the Mansingh Palace. Connecting with the energies of the Higher Brow Chakra.
Day 20: Agra After breakfast, we will visit the incomparable Taj Mahal. Commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan (whose father had built the Agra Fort) in commemoration of his passion and love for favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal has become a symbol of enduring love the world over. Our last dinner together as a group and overnight at the Mansingh Palace. Connecting with the energies of the Higher Crown Chakra.
